Apollo VCT portfolio company story: Turtl
Helps businesses produce high quality, personalised marketing materials at scale.
What Turtl does
Turtl is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that large businesses use to produce and personalise interactive materials like brochures or magazines at scale. Their cloud-based platform makes it easier for businesses to create, read, and analyze the performance of their materials without having to compromise on scale, speed or quality.
One of the biggest communication challenges large companies face is making sure their marketing, sales, recruitment and other materials represent their brand, messaging and point of view consistently.
Turtl solves this challenge by enabling marketing teams to easily create highly engaging master documents, which can then be instantly personalised and distributed by anyone in the company.
Why we like it
We think it’s a really exciting time to be investing in marketing software, that’s why we’ve invested £10 million¹ into the business, the largest initial investment Octopus Apollo VCT has ever made.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a need for companies to improve the way they engage digitally with their customers and stakeholders. Not only is Turtl’s approach to marketing technology innovative, but their data focus means they can empower their clients to make smarter, faster business decisions.
We are excited about the trajectory that Turtl has already shown. They already serve 182² companies and count well known firms such as Mazda, The Economist and mental health charity Mind as clients.
Key risks to remember
Please remember that the value of an investment in Octopus Apollo VCT, and any income from it, can fall as well as rise. Investors may not get back the full amount they invest.

VCT shares could fall or rise in value more than shares listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. They may also be harder to sell.
