Alliott joined Octopus Ventures in 2008 and became CEO in 2017. Over this time the team has backed more than 120 entrepreneurs and has grown to become one of Europe’s largest and most active venture investors.

Under his leadership, the Octopus Ventures investment team has evolved into seven specialist teams in B2B Software, Climate, Consumer, Deep Tech, Fintech, Bio and Health, investing from the earliest stages of company formation through to later stages of growth (both primary and secondary). He has also created a market leading portfolio talent function across Europe and the US.
