Titan VCT portfolio company story: Taster

An online food delivery platform with a strong portfolio of brands, bringing the street food experience to your door.

What Taster does

Led by food delivery pioneer Anton Soulier and backed by one of the founders of Deliveroo, Taster is already Europe’s leading digital restaurant group. They bring the best of street food to customers across France, the UK, Spain and Belgium.

Taster also has a strong portfolio of brands, focusing on the quality of its menus, packaging and delivery experience. It operates five digital brands, each with a unique identity based on a different cuisine and a menu of freshly made, street-food-inspired dishes, specially designed for delivery.

Why we like it

Online food delivery has immense potential and has already seen a dramatic acceleration over the past year to become a $21 billion annual market within Europe.¹ This momentum shows the potential of the market and there is a real opportunity for Taster to accelerate this even further. It aims to achieve national coverage across its core markets whilst maintaining the highest quality operations by working with only selected restaurants that fit its ethos and brand. So far it has built relationships with a collection of more than 86 online restaurants and its new licence partners are thriving.

What our fund managers say

“Taster’s proposition is incredibly exciting. Their focus on the quality of the food itself, the packaging and the online experience is standout and has inevitably led to high levels of repeat business. Its structure will allow it to scale rapidly and we firmly believe this will be a winning combination, with Anton’s experience at Deliveroo also giving Taster another major advantage in this rapidly growing market.”
