What Vinter does
There are two ways in which you can typically make investments, passively and actively. Active investing requires a hands-on approach, usually by a fund manager. Passive investing involves following a set of pre-written rules that are defined by an algorithm, or an index.
Vinter is a regulated index provider that specialises in crypto assets. The company designs, calculates and maintains indexes to cater for the continued growth and popularity of crypto.
Operating in the middle of two big shifts in the financial industry – the rise of passive investing and the rise of crypto – Vinter is making ‘passive investment’ instruments such as ETFs (exchange-traded funds) available to leading issuers in Europe. EFTs have exploded in popularity in the traditional finance world, growing from $1.3 trillion in 2010 to $7.7 trillion in 2020*.

The rise of crypto has been hard to miss over the last twelve months. The architecture of crypto markets is different enough from traditional markets and a huge opportunity exists for a new player to dominate crypto indexing.
