Income and growth

The FP Octopus UK Multi Cap Income Fund targets a yield of 4% and aims to provide an attractive level of capital growth. As active fund managers, we’ll blend some of the UK’s largest and most profitable companies with those mid and smaller sized companies with hidden potential to provide superior returns.
It’s our knowledge and expertise of these under-researched smaller companies that make the fund distinctive and complementary to many of the other UK Equity Income funds which focus far more on larger companies.

Some risks to keep in mind

  • The value of an investment, and any income from it, can fall or rise. Investors may not get back the full amount they invest.
  • Yield is not guaranteed.
  • Investments in smaller and/or medium sized companies are likely to fall and rise in value more than shares listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. They may also be harder to sell.
  • Fees will be deducted from capital which will increase the amount of income available for distribution. However, this will erode capital and may hinder capital growth.

Why invest?

The fund managers have the flexibility to invest in a diverse portfolio of UK companies of any size to generate returns. This allows them to utilise their extensive experience of smaller companies, giving them access to a wide pool of under-researched businesses with the potential for better-than-market capital growth and dividend growth. The fund is focused on generating a regular income, paid quarterly, with a target yield of 4%.

What type of investors could this fund be suitable for?

This fund should be considered by investors with a long-term investment view who are looking for income and capital growth. The fund is invested in UK companies, so the investor will be comfortable with the risks associated with investing in the stock market. This fund is not suitable for investors who don’t want to take any risk with their capital. It is not for investors seeking either short-term gains or a guaranteed amount of income.
